LTL: Water Taste Test
This week in LTL we planned our water taste test. We are going to give people in the school bottled water and tap water and record which one they like more. We are doing this test because we watched a video in which a woman made many claims about bottled water. We wanted to create a test to prove or disprove this claim: “In tests across the country, people have chosen tap water over bottled water.” This is how we planned the test:
- We made a shopping list for Mr. Kovacs,
- We made a list of procedures,~
- And we made a list of variables(what could go wrong).
Math: Multiplying Fractions
This week in math we learned how to multiply fractions. Mr. Kovacs gave us play-dough balls as an example. We learned that when you multiply a whole number by a fraction, the number gets smaller.
Art: Mural
We worked on our moral for the Princeton University art contest in the extravaganza section. It was made out of wood, tissue paper, and scraps of colored paper and books. It took 3 weeks to make we put all our effort into it.
Music: Different Genres of Music
This week in music we worked of our projects. We had to write a paper on two musicians in the same genre,[one old and one modern]then make a timeline and a visual aid. We compared the two musicians and wrote their similarities and differences. We also listed the songs of each musician and wrote which ones we liked and which ones we did not like. We all had different genres. Asher had Rock and Roll, Zinnia did Country, Daniel did Jazz, Alex did Blues, Nikolas did Electronic, and Julius did Pop.
IB Unit: a Brand I Trust
this week our IB unit was about Consumers and Producers. We wrote about a brand that we trust, like Lego. We also talked about brands that mislead us, like Dasani.
