Earth Day Performance
Our International Baccalaureate Unit "Children Express Themselves Through 100 Languages" ended with an outstanding performance by the preschoolers. This central idea is unique to the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. Every child utilizes 100 languages to express themselves and learn. Preschoolers wanted to share on stage what they created to the whole school and to families. They performed two Earth Day songs and then a short play called, Come Together, which was an adaptation from our favorite book, Color of My Own, by Leo Lionni.
Below are some pictures I took throughout the whole process. Preschoolers collaborated together to make all the props, instruments, and costumes. They made instruments using everyday recycled materials. Even the toddlers helped make our show special.
