Dear Families,
It is difficult to believe that there are only 3 days left of the school year! As the final week approaches, we are filled with many wonderful learning memories with the children and look forward to many more next year. Although it is difficult to say "goodbye" to Miss. O., we know that she will continue to be a part of our PJS family in the years to come. It is our hope that we will share educational experiences with each other's classes and perhaps Skype with one another during our IB units of inquiry.
Looking ahead for our final week:
On Monday, June 7, there will be an Awards Assembly at 9:00am. All families are invited to join us for the festitivies.
On Wednesday, June 10, the OK Corral will have a small "End of the Year" breakfast for the children. It will be modest as it will give the children a chance to celebrate their accomplishments, gather their things, and participate in the graduation rehearsal. Please remember that there is a 12:00 dismissal.
Graduation: All parents and family members are cordially invited to attend graduation. All children are expected to attend. All children must come to the School at 5:45 PM for the procession and participate in the ceremony. PLEASE DRESS YOUR CHILDREN IN APPROPRIATE ATTIRE FOR GRADUATION. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE WILL CLOSE THE DRIVEWAY GATE FROM 6:00-6:15 TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN DURING THE PROCESSION AROUND THE CIRCLE. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME. THANK YOU.
Summer Work will be handed out this week. It will include a reading journal as well as math packets. It is important to keep them in a safe place as it is expected that the work will be completed during the summer and turned in during the first week of school in September.
On Friday, members of the OK Corral classroom community gave a wedding shower for Miss O. The children wrote a beautiful book entitled, "A Lesson Plan for a Happy Marriage", wrote and illustrated cards and letters expressing gratitude, and eagerly decorated the classroom in anticipation for the party. At the end of the shower, the students sang the popular "Thank You" song, written by our one and only Sharis Swartley. The children changed a few of the lyrics and choregraphed movements as they sang. It was a truly touching moment in which all of realized that Miss O. will be leaving her mark as she embodies what PJS is all about.
