We hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday that is filled with much needed sunshine. The weather forecast is mixed so please remember to send in appropriate outdoor clothing with your child as well as outdoor shoes.
"Don't Delay! Use Less Water Today!" was our slogan for the week! As we continued to study "Water is an essential, but limited resource", the children eagerly celebrated Earth Week by sharing their expert knowlege of water with the PJS community at the All School Gathering on Friday.
Grades 2 and 3 want to share with you about water and how wasting water is NOT good.
We all need water. About 70% of our body is water. We can’t live without it!
Some women in Africa don’t have clean water. They may walk 26 miles to get to the closest water. That water is not even clean sometimes.
It seems like we are not going to run out of water. But did you know that out of 100% of water, you can only drink 1%. That’s like having 100 m&ms and only getting to eat 1. All the rest can’t be eaten.
Since we don’t have that much water for all the people in the world, it is BAD when we waste it. We waste it by leaving the faucet on, taking WAY too long of showers, or using water that we don’t need.
Today we are asking you to not waste water. Any time you see anything or notice yourself doing something that makes water be wasted, please try to put a stop to it.
Take the pledge: “Don’t delay, use less water today!”
Please say it with us!
“Don’t delay, use less water today!”
Pass it on to family!
