Good Evening!
We hope you have enjoyed a lovely spring weekend. It was so nice to finally see the sun!
This week, the students have been inquiring, researching, and reflecting on our current IB unit, "Water is an essential, but limited, resource." The following is a reflection written by two of our students...
"The Ok Corral class has been learning about water and how it is a limited resource. The OK Corral has decided to take a pledge to shower in less time. That way, we can save a lot of water. We are in the first world, meaning that we can just turn on the faucet, and clean water runs out. But, in some places, like Kenya, Africa, they cannot just turn on the faucet. They don't even have a faucet, sometimes not even an out house. They have to walk up to 2 hours to find the nearest water source, which might not even clean. Taking as much as they can carry, they take it back to their house. The water is barely enough for washing, cleaning, cooking, and drinking. The water can be infected with bacteria that can lead to diarrhea, sickness, and even death. Just $20 can give education and clean water to a child. You can help too. Help us. Join the pledge. Just us can save so much water. First world problems aren't real."
