Dear Families,

WHEN: this coming Monday, October 24th.

HOW: We will leave PJS on a school bus promptly at 8:15am and expect to arrive no later than 2pm. The bus will take us to Liberty State Park in Jersey City where we will embark on a 9:30am ferry to Ellis Island. We will leave the island on the 12:30pm ferry and begin to make our way back to school.
WHY: This trip will help to kickstart our transdisciplinary theme: Where we are in Time and Place. Our Central Idea is: Humans migrate for many reasons and with various outcomes.
Some of the questions we have already begun exploring are:
-Why do people migrate?
-What experiences and emotions do migrating people go through?
-What effects does migration have on communities, cultures, and individuals?
We will continue to deepen our thought process of these provoking questions on our Ellis Island trip and throughout the duration of this study.
