Dear Families,
Happy Mother's Day! We hope you all are enjoying a beautiful day together, filled with love and laughter!
This week the children prepared for the upcoming Student-Led conferences as they looked through their portfolios. This allowed for each to reflect on the work of the school year, think about what they do best, and what their learning goals are. The children are eager to share their learning with you! If you have not done so, kindly sign up for your child's conference on the following website. If none of the times work for you, please contact us in order for us to find a mutually convenient time that works for you to view your child's work.

This past week, we launched our new IB Unit, "Humans migrate for many reasons and with a variety of outcomes." Through literature and discussion, the children are inquiring about the "push and pull" as to why people migrate. The children are connecting their prior knowledge of our past IB unit, "Individuals learn about themselves and the world through their relationships with others”, by formulating questions as to how and why their own families migrated to the United States.

This past week, the children immersed themselves into poetry reading. Through shared reading, each noticed poetic vocabulary, rhythm, language, voice, and that poetry has a variety of purposes as each can be entertaining, paint a picture in the mind, or can teach a lesson.
Enjoying birthday popsicles on a warm, sunny Friday!
We look forward to seeing you in the coming week for conferences! Until then, have a wonderful Sunday!
